OPEN THE BOX – OFFICIAL RULES
How the Game Works
Open the Box is a weekly jackpot game held every Saturday evening at Sutton Social Club. A locked prize box will be displayed along with 30 keys. Only one key will open the padlock and unlock the box.
Before the Game Begins
• There are 30 keys in total.
• The club will demonstrate that one specific key opens the box before the game starts.
• That winning key will then be placed into an individual bag along with all other keys, which will also be stored in identical individual bags.
• All key bags will be thoroughly mixed to ensure selection is completely random.
Ticket Prices
£1 = 1 Strip of Tickets
£5 = 6 Strips of Tickets
The more strips purchased, the greater the chance of being selected.
Who Can Play?
Only Sutton Social Club members and paid visitors/guests may participate. Only those in the club at the time of the draw may select a key otherwise another draw will take place.
The Weekly Draw
• Conducted every Saturday.
• Takes place between 7:00pm and 11:00pm.
• All ticket numbers are entered into the raffle machine.
• One ticket is selected at random.
• The winner then selects one key bag at random and attempts to open the box.
Prize Pot
• All ticket sales, less the £25 winner’s bar credit allocation, are added directly to the jackpot.
• £25 from each week’s ticket sales is reserved to fund the winner’s bar credit.
• The club does not retain any profit from the game.
• Before each draw, the club will announce total ticket sales, amount added to the jackpot and the current jackpot value.
If the Box is Opened
The winner receives the full jackpot (not including £25 bar tab). The game then resets with a new jackpot, and all 30 keys are reinstated.
If the Box Does Not Open
The jackpot rolls over. The selected key is permanently removed from play, improving the odds each week.
General Rules
• One key only can open the box.
• Removed keys cannot be reintroduced.
• The draw result and key selection are final.
• The club may verify a winning ticket before awarding a prize.
• Participation constitutes acceptance of these rules.
• The club reserves the right to amend the rules to maintain fairness and operation of the game.
